Mission at and beyond Zion!
Zion participates in the Friends in Need Community Food Shelf organized by the South Washington County Ministerium, a collaboration of churches and pastors in the Cottage Grove, Newport, and Saint Paul Park area. Several times a year, we organize a specific food shelf re-stocking drive, but the grocery cart is always in the gathering space, waiting for your donation of non-perishable food items or personal care products.
Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts
Zion provides meeting space and assistance to several scout troops; Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Cubs and Brownies. Please call the church office (651–459–3010) to be put in touch with a leader of a troop/pack/den/group for your child.
A group of people with flying knitting needles and crochet hooks meets twice a month at church to create shawls to be used by people undergoing cancer treatment, surgery, or other sickness. The shawls are fashioned in an atmosphere of prayer and concern and those prayers are woven into the fabric of the shawls. When finished, the shawls are distributed to members of Zion and to other people in the community at large who are in need of them. Please contact the church if you have need or know someone who does.
